Every donation helps to ensure that Padang Bai is cleaner and less plastic waste ends up in the ocean. Waste disposal has already been organised and introduced. The waste ends up at the recycling centre. An important first step! BUT: The capacities are exhausted! The masses of rubbish that are collected daily from households, hotels, restaurants and the harbour are piling up at the recycling centre. We are overwhelmed by the co-operation of the village, of every single household that sticks to the rubbish collection! But we were not prepared for the masses... What we urgently need to make the work at the recycling centre more "humane" is a second waste truck and a roof - for the recycling centre to prevent the waste from getting soaked before it is sorted.
